Services
EGTS has firm and interruptible transportation services along with one of the nation’s largest underground natural gas storage systems. The commercial teams work proactively with customers to understand their needs and identify solutions for their transportation and storage requirements. EGTS is customer-focused and always ready to discuss how specific services can fit into your portfolio. Please see the list below for a brief description of available services and reach out to someone on our commercial team for more information on how EGTS can help you.
Firm Transportation: Our Firm Transportation (FT) service offers considerable flexibility with each contract having a primary receipt and delivery point along with secondary rights to all points on the system. Additionally, each firm transportation contract provides market center segmentation point (North Point or South Point) assigned to their contract allowing greater flexibility and price assurance, and access to a liquid supply basin.
Interruptible Transportation: Interruptible Transportation (IT) service is designed to give you flexibility and an alternate to our FT capacity. Unlike FT, IT is subject to interruption based on system constraints but is only billed on the volume transported.
Storage Service: EGTS offers one of the most cost-effective storage services in the nation. Our General Storage Services (GSS) is operated in the aggregate as EGTS has multiple storage facilities located within our service territory allowing for greater flexibility. GSS is a valuable addition to our FT service giving the holder the ability to inject into storage during the summer when gas prices are usually lower and withdrawing during the higher cost winter season.
Market Center Services (MCS): MCS provides interruptible balancing service on a daily and/or intra-day basis allowing a customer to capitalize on daily market volatility. MCS may also be used to loan or park gas on EGTS for short or long-term balancing.
Capacity Release: Enables Part 284 customers to recover a portion of their demand cost by releasing unused capacity.
