Pipeline Integrity Management

BHE GT&S has always placed a high priority on safety and compliance. We embrace the goals of improving pipeline safety, raising public confidence with pipelines in your neighborhood, and continuing to ensure safe infrastructure operations.

Overview

We have implemented Integrity Management Programs for our natural gas transmission and hazardous liquids pipelines to ensure the safety of pipelines located in High Consequence Areas (HCAs) that satisfy the Code of Federal Regulations 49 CFR Part 192 Subpart O (gas transmission pipeline integrity management) and 49 CFR 195.452 (hazardous liquids pipeline integrity management in high consequence areas). We also have implemented an Storage Integrity Management program for our storage facilities to ensure the integrity and safety of all assets to satisfy 49 CFR § 192.12, underground natural gas storage facilities.

Integrity Management Program Strategy

BHE GT&S’s management team cultivates a culture of integrity management in order to align itself with the spirit of the regulation. BHE GT&S has created Integrity Management Programs (IMP) that it believes meets or exceeds the intent of the integrity management regulations, which are subject to frequent evaluation and refinement. Our program strategy is regularly communicated throughout the organization.

BHE GT&S’s pipeline IMPs for liquids pipelines, as well as natural gas pipelines, address all of the components required by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), including, but not limited, to the components below:
